Two and a bit months to go!

Where did the last four months go? It went making lots of calls, bookings, purchases, plans and decisions! So all is well prepared for our wedding in April and we’re very excited and eagerly anticipating the big day now.Plane landing in Geelong

It is amazing how many things need to be done and considered in the preparations. I didn’t really believe that it would take up so much of my life in these 6 months but it has. No wonder people get stressed about it!

As if that wasn’t enough to keep us busy, we’ve also been looking at somewhere to buy and went to our first auction this morning as prospective buyers. Very interesting. It went for 40K more than the advertised range and around 35K more than the limit we set ourselves. We kind of knew this was the norm but were hoping we might be lucky. Back to the search. That one had been renovated really well so we’re thinking we could do a similar thing but sometimes it is hard to look past the mouldy ceilings, brown 70s tile and laminate kitchens and stained carpet!

Went for a jaunt down to Geelong and Queenscliff on Australia Day. Beautiful day - and really enjoyed the mussels and Irish cider we had at a cafe on the pier at Geelong. Queenscliff was interesting and we scoped out some campsites to try our hand at camping at some stage. We bought a tent and all the gear last year but haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

    Hullo,

That you are so organised for your wedding a couple of months out is a credit to you and Andrew - you’re sure to avoid any last-minute, Kath & Kim-style shenanigans!

I can’t wait to celebrate the big day in Noosa.

Good luck with the house hunting - have you considered Fountain Lakes?

Now that may be an idea worth taking up! We could then luxuriate on our patio, looking out on our pergola standing next to our double garage - and enjoy the occasional tia maria and bowl of footy franks.

Look at moi, look at moi.

It will be a day to remember on April 19 and you certainly have put a lot of thought into your Big Day. I was trying to remember what I did to organise my wedding…I think I left it all to Mum and Dad which wouldn’t be the case these days!! Imagine what the wedding would be like if it was??!! ;-)

Good luck with the house hunting. The only advice I can give is this… Renovating sounds great and doeable etc, but it slowly becomes a nightmare. Our little old house we sold was like a shot gun shack when we bought it and we spent a truck load gettinng it liveable. Then I still had loads to do on the swine! If you can get somethng nice that needs the minimum like a lick of paint or a new door then go for it. Having said that I totally understand how hard it is sometimes to find something that is just ready to go. You might love renovations. We have friends here who love to do up houses (sick people!!). It makes my head ache. All the very best x
