Welcome to 2008!

It has been a great festive season and I’m on leave now for 2 weeks which is brilliant! Looking forward to visits from Mum and Loretta in the next week.

Christmas lights on houseIt was good to spend Christmas and New Year in Melbourne this year with Andrew and his family although it was a little strange not seeing my family on Christmas day - glad I saw Dad a couple of weeks ago and will see Mum this week.

A house down the road from us had an amazing display of Christmas lights including reindeer running across the roof, stars, presents, santa and an array of other pictures hung up all over the garden wall, house, driveway and gate. Every night, we would see cars slow down as they passed or stop and people would gather around the gate marveling at the sight and taking photos. On Xmas eve they even had someone dressed up as Santa (I’m assuming the owner) letting people go inside the yard to have a look for a gold coin which they were donating to a charity. How cool! Can’t believe the effort people go to but it does make it a special time.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay with you and Andrew in your little home. It’s been good seeing the blue skies and sunshine after experiencing the storm ravaged Sunshine Coast weather.

Thank you for your care, fun and fine food.

It has been great to have you here to stay and enjoy some laughs and games of scrabble!

    Hi Ruth and Andrew

I am not used to these blog sites and just commented I think on the wrong page - anyway what I said is that we are so looking forward to sharing your special day and Sam is particularly excited! Enjoy every minute of the next 3 months - it is such an awesome time.

    Lots of love

Judah is intrigued by the Xmas lights so we do the annual tour of northern Brisbane. There is a street near us that has every house bar one or two as entrants so you can imagine the wattage. One house had a snow blower and a cinema screen. Talk about keen!

Was the weather as dismal in Melbourne as it has been here? It is rain rain rain.

Thank you Gill. We are very excited too and it will be fabulous to have you over.

We have been having temps over 40 degrees in Melbourne and no rain at all - talk about extremes!!

Hey Gill - going well, busy of course but everything going to plan! I’m really looking forward to the day now and so excited that you Kiwis will be over here.

Getting in our RSVPs now so when we have that finalised we will be able to do the last minute things like working out the seating. People say if you can organise a wedding, you can organise anything and now I believe them - I don’t think I quite realised how much there would be to do from the time of getting engaged up until the day!
