Excitement and planning, planning, planning…

Seems like longer than two weeks since we got engaged! There has been a lot to think about in that time and lots of people to tell the good news.

Trying my hardest not to get too caught up in all the organisation that’s required but it is hard not to - it’s exciting as well as a little daunting. Haven’t shied away from the excitement though and all the good wishes and happiness expressed by our family and friends has been wonderful. Thanks to Mum for the lovely flowers and Fiona, Gill and a couple of other friends for the cards.

We’ve now booked the venue. It will be at the Boathouse restaurant in Noosaville.

Next job is finding a celebrant. One man we contacted is already officiating at a wedding that day at the same time. It is interesting how many of the celebrants have websites now. It is a real business! I kept thinking about Marion in Kath and Kim and diligently checked the Attorney General’s website to make sure they actually are registered.

Also need to choose the ceremony location which is planned to be outside - Mum is going to check out some of the locations. So much is available via the Internet these days - Noosa Council provides an aerial map of all the possible ceremony sites.

Our rings are on order - I am planning to only have one ring as an engagement and wedding ring. It’s a gorgeous modern design from a jewellery shop in the Dandenongs. We chose it when we were up there - I think she is a local designer - quite an impulsive buy but I really love it.

It’s going to be a wonderful day and it’s so exciting to be included in your plans. Your ring sounds to be very unique and beautiful, just like you.

In all your planning you still manage to devour some interesting books…how do you do it?? :-)

I think it is habitual! Also get about 30mins reading time on the train each day plus I think I am a fast reader.

It is going to be a wonderful day!

Ruth is a voracious reader - one of the many reasons why I was attracted to her in the first place as I tend to be a bit of a voracious reader as well :) (our merged library is getting quite large now).

The wedding is going to be a fantastic day! Glad that you are a part of it Rose. We now have organised a reception location as well as a celebrant. Just have to secure the location for the ceremony and we are well on our way.

The groom is a very important part of this wonderful occasion :) It’s a pleasure to be helping two very happy love birds. Hope to see the ceremony location next weekend and see if it’s high heel friendly!!

The Kath & Kim references keep coming up - I won’t be surprised if I see Sharon and co. there on the day. Now all you need is a horsehair switch from Fountaingate!

    Beautiful flowers too!

    Good luck with the planning.

Hey that Boathouse restaurant is fantastic. Last time we caught the ferry up the river they gave us a running commentary on the place and said what high esteem it was held, locally. It has a lovely view. Really pretty spot. Excitement plus!

I laughed my head off just now about the Kath and Kel marriage clebrant. LOL. I loved that episode. I think Sean and I nearly wet ourselves watching that.

I love that episode too! Yeah the Boathouse should be great for the view and the atmosphere. I am yet to see the interior but will do so when we go to Maleny/Noosa next month.

we went to Maleny on the weekend and then ended up in Caloundra on the way back. Caloundra was one of the few places the sun was shining. It was a bit dismal back in Redcliffe.

Someone from work recently had a party at the Boathouse and they said it was tops.

    Hi Ruth and Andrew

So great to hear of your plans and we can’t wait to be with you in April. Sam is very excited - her second wedding in 6 months!!!

Make sure you enjoy every minute of the lead up to your wonderful day - I can still remember how I felt - difficult to put into words really. Anyway good luck with all your planning and I know it will be a fantastic day.

    Love Gill (Cuzzy from NZ)

Thanks Gill! It is hard to put into words and a little scary too. I’m sure it will be a great day too. :)
