Quick trip to Maleny
We went for a quick overnight trip to visit Mum in Maleny last weekend. It was an early start on the Saturday - the alarm bleating out at 4.45am so we could make our 7.05am flight. We left the car at ‘Andrew’s airport parking’ which is a great service - less than $15/day to park undercover and their shuttle to and from the airport leaves every couple of minutes.
Picked up our Toyota Prius at Brisbane airport - it was interesting driving a battery/petrol hybrid car. There’s barely any sound when you start it up which feels strange.
Had a great day with Mum, a nice walk through the Maleny rainforest and a look at the gorgeous view of the Glasshouse Mountains. They are bizarre pieces of geography. Then we picked up some nice cheese in town and had an ice-cream. Mum made her famous Thai yellow fish curry for dinner - nice and spicy - and beforehand we enjoyed lots of cheese and some sparkling wine. It was lots of fun with Mum’s wood fire crackling, keeping us toasty warm.
