The Amazing Race
Anyone else getting into The Amazing Race? I’m going for Charla and Myrna then Eric and Danielle and then the Beauty Queens. I can’t help liking Charla and Myrna even though others I know don’t. I liked Danny and Oswald too - I’ve only really gotten into this series in the last few weeks.
Apparently there was flooding today in Gippsland - when it rains, it pours! Earlier in the year it was the drought and now this. It was horrible in Melbourne today with wind coming from every direction, rainy and cold. My umbrella blew inside out a couple of times and I didn’t venture far at lunch time.
The fig trees in the garden are now clothes-less skeletons - so different to a few months ago when they were full of figs and green foliage. I didn’t realise they are deciduous.
Don’t go to see Pirates of the Carribean 3 either. It is monotonous drivel with a weak plot and failed attempts at being absurdist. I liked the first two but this one is definitely not worth a movie ticket.
We went to an auction of a Victorian cottage near us on Saturday and could not believe our ears when it sold for half a million. It was an absolute dump, totally unrenovated, falling apart, no heating, propped up by bricks and built next to a big car park for the shopping centre where cars park day and night. The land was worth 280,000.
Well that was one up for the books…THAT auction. Did they get a bidder?
Was surprised that you wanted to see the Pirate movie. It’s not my cup of tea at all.
Don’t know about The Amazing Race. Is it around the world?
The pics of the floods were horrific and as the man said not long ago they were having forest fires there. What’s happening to the globe re weather patterns?? It’s so cold in QLD this year.
Poor little fig trees, you’d better give them some TLC
Yes there were 2 bidders (well 3 but the first bid was much lower than the reserve price) - we couldn’t believe it! One was a young couple too. The ones who won it were older though. Yes the amazing race is around the world but last Thurs was the final episode - the pair I was going for didn’t win but I was glad the couple won in the end.
I was disappointed by the third Pirates movie too. After the first two I was hoping that the third one would give a nice finish to the series - oh well, it is Hollywood after all so what can you expect…
It was amazing about the floods in Gippsland. It has been really inconsistent this year. Fig trees look forlorn.
