Enjoying the sunshine
Lots of us including some friendly four-legged creatures were enjoying the sunshine last Saturday (see photo below taken at a service station on the way back from Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula). It was gorgeous. I know people further north probably experience this every day but I can tell you when you live somewhere that gets really cold, you so appreciate those balmy sunny days.

The morning started off overcast but by midday there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and it was really warm - almost even T-shirt and shorts weather. After a quick drive down to Sorrento and back to pick up 12 loaves of gluten-free bread for Andrew’s mother, we headed over to a cafe opposite the botanic gardens to meet up with some friends for a quick lunch.
After that, Andrew and I walked around the botanic gardens with a stop inside the war memorial where we were lucky to catch a presentation about the history of it and a short ceremony where a ray of light passed across the memorial stone in the centre atrium area. Also watched a bit of interesting footage of the soldiers on the kokoda trail.
The greenery and spring flowers were lovely to see, such an oasis in the city.
