These flowers represent a Peugot 306

Vases of flowers on table Now this situation needs some explaining. This beautiful vase and enormous bunch of pink lilies was given to me by Andrew but originally, the flowers were given to Andrew - by a car dealer! On Friday when he sealed the deal for his new silver 2000 model Peuogot 306, he was presented with them. And I was lucky enough to end up with them sitting on my table, being able to enjoy their dazzling glory and sweet scent.

Now you may also notice beside them, although they are dwarfed by this eye-catching arrangment, a small bunch of orchids humbly displayed in an empty Old El Paso taco sauce bottle.

Well it was the sweetest thing. When we were returning from the city last weekend and walking past a florist in Balaclava, Andrew asked me if I would like something. We walked inside and he chose this unassuming bunch of purple orchids. I love the shape of the buds and the petals and the delicate colour. I didn’t have a vase so I found this old bottle on top of the fridge to put them in.

While the ‘look-at-me’ bunch of lilies is certainly beautiful and impressive, the taco sauce bottle of wilting orchids is the true centrepiece here.

I think the guy at the car dealership had the hots for me :) Before I left the dealership with the car he said to wait and ducked back inside…. He came back out with the flowers… Maybe he was looking for a candlelit dinner for 2 by a fireplace or something :)

I like the spontanious, spur of the moment things and I like the lesser known flowers. Roses and Lillies and Dafodils are all kinda nice, but I like the unusual beauty of some of the less well known flowers. Orchids are very delicate :)

Me too! I like unusual flowers as well and something small can be just as nice, if not nicer, than something large and showy. It was a lovely thought!

    That is sweet indeed.

Ruth I think you have to keep an eye on Andrew. But of course you can threaten him by hiding him camera :)

Yeah I know Ruthie, which is why I try to get spontaneous moments in whenever I can :)

Amit - that’s very harsh punishment indeed! :) Ruth has nothing to worry about, they can look all they like, but they can’t have :) There is only 1 light in my life…

Yes, flowers say it all, don’t they??

Watch the chocolate this Easter!! I hope you have a wonderful long weekend. I’m about to return to Byron to battle the “grass smoking Blues and Roots fans”!! Might join them, actually, after five long weeks of marking!! Love to all :-) XX
