Hair trial

Reporter: A. HulkA young woman from Balaclava has appeared in court today in the most extreme case of hairdresser rage ever seen. Police were called to a Toorak establishment after the proprietor had his hair entirely shaved off and coloured with permanent blue rinse. The Balaclava woman apperently could not get an appointment without having to sit through a 2 hour consultation. It is believed that the hairdresser was rude to the woman on the phone. He is recovering in hospital from shock at seeing his perfectly styled hair ruined…
That is one negative of moving to a new place - finding a hairdresser. Not that I’ve ever had the one hairdresser for any length of time like lots of people. I’m not picky and usually I’ll just choose somewhere that looks pretty unpretentious but not really dodgy - mid-range, shopping centre salons are fine by me.
I wanted to get my hair cut this Saturday for a celebration of 1 year together for Andrew and I on Sat night
. Well, what a rigmarole. The first place I called was fully booked. The second one said he could have the colour done at 9.15 then I would have to wait until 11.15 to have it cut (at leaat 3 hours in the hairdressers - no way) and in the middle of the conversation, he started laughing maniacally which made me mildly paranoid. The next place wanted to make it a 2 hour appointment so they could consult with me because I was a new client. I was about tearing my hair out (hee hee) by this stage. I can’t stand that kind of pretentiousness about getting a haircut. Yes, it’s good to look nice but really, it’s going to grow out pretty quickly and the styles they do never last unless you put a stack of product on it. And those kind of places charge a fortune.
In the end I got a recommendation from Andrew’s mother for a place at Armadale and the lady who I spoke to was nice when I called. It was still going to take 2.5 hours for a colour (aaaaggh) but I decided to scrap that and just go for a cut. What a relief. Let’s hope they’re good. At 2.30pm on Saturday I’ll be going under the knife…um scissors. Think of me.

Hahahahah!! That A.Hulk sounds familiar
Which paper is he from…
I sometimes have to laugh at how different it is going into a hairdressers as a man. Less than half the price and less than half the time - You have to wonder whether hairdressers are ripping women off with what they charge.
Looking forward to Saturday. 1 Year!!
Melbourne even!!!!!!! What a year it has been for both of us
. It has flown by and I can see many more anniversaryies down the track!
Congratulations on your 1 year! yay! Have a superb time.
On the hair issue : I have had a n i g h t m a r e of a time since coming to Qld and trying to locate a hairdresser as good as Nigel in Sydney. The first place I tried left my head blistered, the second salon charged next to nothing but coloured like two year olds and others were either maniacs, aggro or incompetent. I have finally found an okay hairdresser who used to do celebrity hair. She is still not as good as Nigel. She is a good colour person but always in a strange mood.
bugger
I hope you have a pleasant hair experience on saturday. I have never spent less than three hours in a salon -it’s a trial unless you like the person.
You and I are in the same boat, Ruth, as I too have to find a new hairdresser. Marcus, who has been doing my hair for a long time has decided he wants a break, so is taking his wife and little girl (Piper) on a trip around Oz for a few months. It’s really daunting wondering what our heads will turn out like!!!! You certainly had some weird experiences in Balaclava. I rang around for prices and found here they are Sydney prices which is really annoying. The place I’m going to is called “Sweet and Vicious”!!! They won’t take a cheque and the only credit card they don’t take is, yes, you guessed it…..AMEX which is my card!!!! Oh, well they say there is only a week between a good and a bad haircut.
I hope you have a good time after a year of being together….33 to go if you want to last as long as Dad and I!!!!!!????????
You’ll be glad to know the hairdresser was really good and nice too. Yay! I can sympathise with that blistering effect, Fiona - was it the hairdryer or the hair colour which caused that? I can’t stand it when the hairdryer is too hot and they burn the scalp off the head! Hope the Sweet and Vicious place is sweet and not vicious Mum - I’ve seen that place in Byron. I will thoroughly enjoy tonight with my new style.
You’ll be the “prettiest gal in town” tonight. Your new hair style sounds lovely and your new dress too. I hope you had a wonderful time…..Andy could sing, “You look wonderful tonight”!! Send some pics!!!!
Hee hee - yes he could have although I don’t want broken windows and glasses! We had a great night!
Oh to be young and SOOOOOOOO in love!!! You did well and made the most of the occasion. Pity about the wet start though. That would have been inconvenient with all the travellers’ luggage to manipulate. Your help would have been appreciated. I like your new hair style and your outfits. Surprised you didn’t get to the Vodka Bar though?????
