New house and social events
Just a quick summary today because I’m trying to get my information for my tax together and prepare for Internet training this week. Lots of fun!
The week went very quickly after the holiday. I was preparing for a meeting with the managers about the website and database. I will be presenting tomorrow at the management meeting so I have been doing last minute changes for that.
We farewelled one of our friends, Natalie (who I went to Vietnam with) on Tuesday. She was on a 6 month assignment.
On Friday night, we went to the Aust. embassy drinks. We haven’t been to them before and quite enjoyed meeting some different people. Last night was a boat cruise for one of the street kids NGOs, ‘Friends’ except it was absolutely pelting down so the boat didn’t leave the dock!
It was still lots of fun with dancing and a big crowd on 3 boats side by side! We could go between boats via wooden planks. A bit of a worry where there’s alcohol being consumed!
Exciting news – Sonia and I are moving to a 2 BR apartment in a more central location because Ana is leaving soon. It is really nice and light with a tiled balcony, wooden shutters and a big tree out the front (a bonus in PP).
The family lives out the back and after 6 months without a TV, we will now have cable (a bit exciting!). Inside, it’s really clean and full furnished (although erring on 80s style). The bedrooms aren’t anything to write home about, pretty dark – but I can live with that for 3 months. It’s exciting because it’s near where some of our friends live.
